The composition of an e-liquid

La composition d'un eliquide Bar à Diy

E-liquids are made up of three main ingredients: PG, VG and flavoring, to which you can add nicotine if you wish.

Let's take a closer look at each component.

Aromes

Flavoring

Flavors are made up of a single type of flavor such as peach, also known as "mono-aroma", or concentrates, a blend of several flavors to obtain a complex flavor. Aromatic substances are obtained by chemical synthesis. But there are also natural flavors, such as tobacco macerates. To find out more about macerates, click here. At Bar à Diy®, we use original flavors and concentrates from leading brands. For example, if you're vaping Red Astaire®, we use the original TJuice® brand concentrate.

PG

PG Or Propylène Glycol

Propylene glycol is the second ingredient in your e-liquid. It's an odorless, colorless liquid derived from petrochemicals. There are 3 forms of PG: bi-propylene glycol, tri-propylene glycol and vegetable mono-propylene glycol. The latter, also known as MPVG, is obtained by the same process, but from plant materials such as rapeseed. You'll also find this substance in the food sector - as in food coloring - or in the pharmaceutical sector - present in ventolin - as well as in the smoke games found in discotheques, for example.

What is it used for?

Not very viscous, it is used as a diluent in your e-liquid, and its main action? Flavor enhancer! It limits the drying out of your resistor's cotton. In other words, the higher the level of PG in your e-liquid, the longer your resistance will last. It's the one that gives the sensation of a throat hit, being slightly irritating. On this subject, remember to hydrate regularly if you vape. What's more, it has the ability to better transport nicotine molecules on inhalation.

VG

VG or Vegetal Glycerin

Vegetable Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it promotes condensation. It is a thick, viscous, transparent, odorless liquid with a slightly sweet taste. Unlike PG, it brings a smoothness to the vape and causes no throat hit. It is used in eliquids, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It is USP and EP pharmaceutical grade, as recommended by AFNOR XP D-300-2, and contains a minimum of 99.5% glycol.

What is it used for?

Containing up to a quarter of its volume in water, it creates a thick vapor. It's the element that produces the big clouds. So, the more VG your eliquid contains, the more vapor you'll make. Note: if you opt for an eliquid with more than 50% VG, you'll need sub-ohm resistors and change them more regularly. This is because vegetable glycerine clogs up your resistors more quickly.

Nicotine

Additives : nicotines

On Bar à Diy®, you can choose between classic nicotine and saline nicotine. An article on each of these nicotines is available on our site. I invite you to click on the link that interests you to learn more. For classic nicotine, you can choose your rate from 0mg/ml to 14mg/ml from 1 to 1. For nicotine salts, you can choose your rate from 0mg/ml to 16mg/ml from 1 to 1 as well.

This way, you can determine your starting rate as accurately as possible, then decrease it by 1 in 1 and wean yourself off without frustration.
